Kořeny naší společnosti sahají do roku 2010, kdy byl založen šermířský cech Sv. Michaela. Tato mezinárodní komunita byla a je zaměřena na výzkum a praktické provádění šermu a zápasu podle původních písemných pramenů 14. až 17. století. Našimi oddíly a školami prošlo několik set studentů z řady evropských i asijských zemí. Přirozeným vrcholem naší činnosti bylo zpracování překladů do knižní podoby a jejich publikace. Naše knihy společně s výukou tak zastřešuje společnost Guildam Gladiatorum s.r.o., což je latinský název pro šermířský cech.

Zakladateli cechu i firmy jsou pánové Petr Turya a Ing. Martin Pulchart. Oba stále aktivně šermují a zápasí. Petr Turya je autorem překladů a textů našich knih.

Cílem cechu je vytvářet studijní prostředí pro všechny zájemce o Evropské bojové umění v jeho autentické podobě. Jeho činnost je rozdělena na publikační činnost, překlady původních děl a praktickou výuku šermu: dlouhým mečem, tesákem, rapírem, dýkou, dřevcovými zbraněmi a zápasu.

Fencer's Guild se zabývá výzkumem, publikováním a výukou rytířského umění. Zhmotňujeme minulost do současnosti s plným respektem a autentickým překladem knih ze staroněmčiny do českého a anglického jazyka.

Fencers’ Guild – Guildam Gladiatorum

Fencers’ Guild is dedicated to the research, publication, and instruction of the medieval knightly art of combat. We transform the art of the past into the modern environment with full respect for authenticity based on the original sources.

The goal of the Fencers’ guild is to create an environment for anyone interested in the study of the European Martial Arts in its authentic form. Our activities include both translation and publication of the original written sources as well as practical instruction in combat with number of different weapons – longsword, Dussack, rapier, dagger, pole weapons as well as unarmed wrestling.

The origins of the Fencers’ Guild go back to 2010 when the fencing guild of St Michael was founded. Today, Fencer’s Guild is an international community of HEMA practitioners who are dedicated to the research and practice of the art of fencing and combat based on the original written sources from the 14th to 17th century.

Few hundreds of students from number of European and Asian countries passed through our schools and affiliated groups over the recent years. The pinnacle of our effort was the translation and publication of the original sources historical sources we use as a basis for our practice.

Founders of the Guild were Petr Turya and Martin Pulchart. Both of them are still actively involved in the fencing and combat practice. Petr Turya is the author of the translation of the historical sources we use as a basis for our study.
